How to manage your AARP membership

Can I update my membership account information online?

Yes. If you have an AARP.org user account and have signed in securely with AARP, simply choose the  My Account button , located  to the right of the AARP logo in the red stripe at the top of the web page. If you have not established a secure session with AARP, you will need to provide your username and password to make changes. In the red stripe, locate the link titled Login  that appears on the extreme right to enter your account. There you will be able to update your name, address, telephone, email address and the information of your spouse or partner.

Can I request a replacement membership card?

Yes.  Your membership card page gives you step-by-step instructions for requesting a replacement card and printing a temporary card.

What is the magnetic stripe on the back of my card for?

• The magnetic stripe and barcode on the back allow providers and AARP to verify that you are an active AARP member. 
• This AARP membership card with a magnetic stripe and bar code makes it easy to take advantage of AARP discounts and programs.
• AARP continually looks for ways to improve membership and provide you with more value. Keep your new AARP card in your purse or wallet and present it to take advantage of your membership benefits.

Are there plans to expand the list of places where the AARP membership card is accepted?
