Punjabi Singer Sidhu Moose Wala Shot Dead, a Day After His Security Was Withdrawn

Sidhu Moose Wala , who contested the Punjab polls on a Congress ticket and two other candidates were shot at while they were traveling in a jeep through Mansa district.

The Tribune reported that Sidhu Mowse Wala , a Punjabi singer, was gunned down in Jahawarke village in Mansa district of Punjab. The assailants opened fire on a jeep that they were traveling in, injuring two others.

They have not yet been identified. The attack occurred just one day after the Punjab government remove security coverage for 424 people, including Moose Wala, NDTV report.

ANI report that Moose Wala and two other victims were taken to Mansa Hospital following the attack.

Ranjeet Rai, a hospital civil surgeon, said that three people were brought to hospital. Sidhu Moose Wala died. "The primary treatment was complete and the injury were referred to an institute higher for further treatment.

According to PTI, several bullets struck Moose Wala.

 The Tribune, police suspect that gangsters are involve in the attack.  Gangsters from Canada had asked for ransom recently from many Punjabi artists.

Moose Wala was a candidate for the Punjab Assembly elections from Mansa constituency on a Congress ticket and lost to Vijay Singla, Aam Aadmi Party leader.

Singla was taken to judicial custody on Friday for 14 days due to corruption charges.

After the allegations against Singla surface, Singla was fire from his state Cabinet post on Tuesday. He was also arrest the Punjab Anti-Corruption Cell. He was accuse of asking for Rs 1.16-crore in bribes to help fund construction projects.

Bhagwant Mann, Punjab Chief MInister, express shock at the incident. He promise that the perpetrators would be punish. He appeal to the citizens of Punjab for peace.

The Congress party express shock over the death of Moose Wala and offer condolences for his family. Roshan Lal Bittu, the student union's National Secretary, question the decision of the state to remove Moosewala from security.

He said, "Deeply stuny and saddened at the murder of promising Congress leader Sidhu Mogeswala" "My deepest condolences go out to his love ones, and fans all over the globe."

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Bharatiya Janata Party leader, has ask Amit Shah, Union Home Minister to investigate how the list of people whose security was remove got leak.
