With an outreach to around 3.4 lakh individuals, the college serves about 25.6 lakh outpatients and roughly 1.35 lakh inpatients annually. The 179 programs offered by CMC Vellore cover various topics, including MBBS, nursing, allied health sciences, postgraduate medical specialties, remote learning programs, and Ph.D. programs in several fields. About 350 publications and research papers from the college are typically published each year in indexed peer-reviewed journals. It aspires to provide the most outstanding standard of patient care while educating the upcoming generation of eminent clinical and scientific leaders.


It has been recognized as one of the best medical schools in India by the MCI and has received rankings from reputable media outlets like The Week and India Today. Today, Vellore Medical College includes 5 campuses and over 2800 beds, including a cutting-edge hospital in Vellore. 2000 physicians and 3000 nurses have joined the hospital, which provides a wide range of medical specialties, advanced diagnostics, and treatments, as well as primary and secondary level care for the surrounding areas. It also has a wide range of high-tech equipment, such as three MRIs, three CT scanners, two powerful linear accelerators, a PET-CT scan, and the most recent auto analyzers in the labs.


CMC Vellore Admission

Old dates for CMC Vellore Admission 2020 have been postponed, and new dates have not yet been released. Candidates are urged to regularly check the website for any new information on the timetable and selection procedures for MBBS admissions. For the management quota seats in the self-financing medical colleges of Tamil Nadu, applicants to CMC Vellore for MBBS must also apply to the Tamil Nadu Selection Committee.


The college website will host the entrance exam results, and those who made the shortlist will be notified by email or speed mail. Registrations are open, and candidates can move on with the CMC Vellore Admission based on additional special tests and interviews.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates for the MBBS program must get a minimum of 50% in their 10+2 Physics, Chemistry, Biology (or Botany or Zoology), and English classes.
  • Candidates for admission must receive at least 140/200 in the aforementioned subjects.
  • At the time of admittance, they needed to be 17 years old, or they needed to turn that age on or before December 31 of the same year.
  • A unified registration process is followed by the admission exam for all courses. The registration form can be filled out and submitted online, and after that, the required paperwork should be carried to the college together with the fee receipt.
  • It offers admission to the MBBS program based on a passing NEET UG score, followed by a state- and central-adopted counseling process.
  • The college offers admission to its Allied Health Science (AHS) B.Sc., BOT, BPT, BPO, and Diploma programs based on the results of a computer-based test (CBT) and an interview.
  • A valid GATE score is required for admission to the MS in Bioengineering and M.Tech in Clinical Research programs. Admission to the M.Sc., MPH., and M.Phil. programs is determined by merit and entrance examination results.
  • To get a spot in the MD and MS programs, students must pass the NEET PG exam. The availability of DM and M.Ch courses depends on CBT results.


Scholarship for CMC Vellore

For the weaker groups of students, CMC Vellore has arranged for a variety of scholarships and reduced tuition. After acceptance, students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds can apply for scholarships. Education, training, and professional growth are the main goals of CMC, and they seek the top students from all socioeconomic levels. Even though these impoverished sections find it difficult to pay, they are urged to apply for scholarships, which are available for all undergraduate courses. The prices for their comfort are significantly subsidized (Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences). Scholarships are based on financial need and may cover all or a portion of the fees and lodging expenses.


CMC Vellore Hostel

The CMC Vellore Hostel for Women opened its doors in 1932, and the men's hostel followed several years later, in the year 1953. The hostel buildings have undergone modernization throughout the years, yet they still give off a welcoming atmosphere. Students enrolled in the MBBS, BSc Nursing, and Diploma in Nursing programs must live in the hostel. Hostels are available for different courses based on space. The meal at the hostel, which is maintained by the guests, provides a wide range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian alternatives.
