How to Remember the Qur’An!

Happy Ramadan to all! I wish Allah accepts your fasts and prayers. This post is perfect for Ramadan. This is how I memorized the online quran academy. I utilized this method to memorize the Qur'an. And it's why I've been leading for about five years now, alhamdulillah.

This method is broken down into three parts:

NEW LEARNING

new memory

old memory

Each category will be introduced briefly before showing you how to remember within it. Long-term memorization of the online quran academy takes around a month. An ayah is only solidified if it has been repeated enough times in the deeper parts of the brain.

This is when you start memorizing. If you are serious about memorizing, you must follow these instructions completely.

Ten times read the first ayah on the page.

Now recite the same verse ten times without glancing at it.

Connect the ayahs. First and second ayahs without peeking in or making mistakes.

Keep attaching the ayaat. Then go back to the beginning of the page and read till you memorized the ayah.

After the last ayah, recite the entire page from top to bottom without glancing or making any mistakes.

Recite the page to someone. You should make no errors.

Repeat steps 5-8 until you have a perfect page memorized.

Memorizations

This is how much Qur'an you've memorized in the last month. The quality of the ayaat you memorized is determined by this step. (Retaining/examining the Quran takes 25 days. After that, once a month will do. This leads to the ‘old memorization' we'll discuss).

Then recite it to someone who knows the ayaat by heart or knows how to read the Qur'an.

You must recite five pages you memorized in the last five days till you don't make any blunders. Then tell the teacher.

Now, whatever your memories, you MUST read regularly. When I say read, I mean both recite to oneself and to someone else.

Don't learn new ayaat if you don't review your daily memorization. You're filling a cup with water. If you don't review your new memorization every day, you'll eventually forget everything! (If you haven't reviewed a page in seven days, go back to the ‘new lesson' and review it.)

I may sound repetitious, but I cannot stress more how much you must review the ‘new memorization.' What it means to you.

Six pages a day for 20 days will bring back memories of jazz. After twenty days, spend five extra days reviewing the juz with a pro.

It will now be part of your ‘old memorization.

OLD MEMORY

Anything you've reviewed for at least 25 days. How much you review depends on your Quran memorization. Fresh courses and new memorizations will cease until you have memorized the online quran academy (which I trust will happen soon for all of you wanting to memorize it). This will go on till death separates us.

In ‘old memorization,' no more than four mistakes or stutters per jazz.

A mistake is when you read something incorrectly and can't repair it. A stutter is defined as reading something poorly, correcting it, and then reading it right. Likewise, you should produce at least one error or stammer per five pages.

Final thoughts

  • I would peek into the mushed and write down difficult verses. I would sometimes listen to recitations to help me remember. Looking in and repeating it won't always work, so memories it!
  • It's okay if you falter in your old memorization. Not two or three days at once. Reading the Qur'an takes a lifetime.
  • Reviewing Trump's memorization.
  • If you need to revisit a part rather than memories of something new, do so.
  • Read EVERY DAY. This should be our habit as Muslims, not just as hid students.

This is the best approach I could remember. It came to me as a Learning Quran online UK student struggling to remember Allah's book at the age of fourteen. That's how I believe Allah responded to my request.

I pray that Allah helps you remember His word and grants you a blessed Ramadan filled with success.
