Errors when studying for the entrance exam
- Not everything from high school comes: The most common mistake is to think that in the entrance exam they will ask you everything you saw in high school. This mistake is very common in people who trust themselves because they are doing so well in high school. Surely you know someone who applied for Medicine and did not stay, even though he had very good grades in high school. It is true that the average is a good indicator of performance, however, not because you have good grades does it mean that you have the necessary knowledge.
- Not knowing how to understand texts: The reading part is super important, regardless of whether your exam focuses on that, many applicants trust themselves to know mathematics and do not pay attention to the text comprehension part. What is the consequence? In general, they do not have enough time to finish the exam because the texts are usually long and sometimes very confusing (abstract topics that may even seem boring to you).
- Do not study all the subjects: There are very easy areas in many exams, for example the history of your country, I assure you that it is enough that you watch 3 or 4 documentaries to earn those points. Many people put aside the "simple" topics and end up losing those points that can be your entrance to college.
- Study only mathematics: The area that is most complicated for all of us is mathematics, so when we understand it, we feel super confident of passing the entrance exam. Analyze well the topics you must study; I assure you that the math part does not exceed 50% of everything that comes in your exam. Many applicants focus solely on studying mathematics and leave out the other 50%, the result is students rejected and frustrated for having spent many hours only on part of their exam.
Time to go to college
High school is over! In college everything is different, I don't know if you are used to having your parents accompany you to do the paperwork, or even that they are the one to do it. The first thing you have to understand is that in this new stage, it is you who has to be responsible for the entire admission process and everything that involves preparing for an admission exam.

I repeat, I do not know if you are going to apply to the UABC, UNAM, IPN, UNISON, UDG, BUAP, UAS, there are many public universities in Mexico and throughout Latin America, so I will try to be general.
Find out well about the call of the university
Really, it sounds super logical, but many applicants make mistakes or stay out of the university because they forget, or do not even realize that the call is already open. Most universities ask you for the certificate of completion of studies, be careful, I did not say certificate, I said CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION OF STUDIES, it is a certificate that they give you in 6th semester and that you have to deliver at the university you want to apply to.
