Watching movies is a great pastime. Some people enjoy watching movies because they are looking for a way to escape, while others love the stories and the actors. There are several different genres of movies, including comedy, drama, action, thriller, romance, and many more. One genre that has been gaining popularity in recent years is car films. Here are 10 great cars films that will keep you entertained while also giving your life some speed.

To Live and Die in L.A.

To Live and Die in L.A., a 1985 film, stars Henry Fonda as a former boxer who is now a reporter for a local newspaper in the California city. While he is initially skeptical of this new job, he soon finds that he is able to make himself useful as a journalist, and the women who work with him – including a beautiful photographer played by Sondra Locke – show an immediate interest in him.

Following a car accident, Fonda suddenly finds himself in a situation where he has to balance his duties as a journalist and his new role as a father. When the protagonist gets married, his wife unexpectedly begins driving his car while he rides in the passenger seat, which leads him to become involved in some action that may cost his life.

Cars

Cars is a Disney Pixar film that originally came out in 2006. The movie tells the story of a group of friends who get stuck at a diner car wash due to a massive blizzard. A very sweet story that is both funny and heartbreaking at the same time.

The movie has won numerous awards, including the Kids Choice Award for Favourite Movie, the Kids Choice Award for Favourite Movie Couple, the Kids Choice Award for Favourite Movie 3D, and the Kids Choice Award for Favourite Movie and Favourite Disney Movie 2D.

The Fast and the Furious franchise

The Fast and the Furious has been around for more than a decade and it has one of the most loyal fan bases out there. There are eight different movies in the series and while there are several differences, they all have one thing in common — great car fights. There are a total of 13 cars in the Fast and Furious franchise, including movie versions of the Dodge Charger, Toyota Supra, the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Porsche Cayenne, the Nissan Skyline GTR, and many more.

Of course, a race track is not the only place where car chases can occur. In fact, racing on a racetrack is a lot more common. For example, The Fast and the Furious 2 takes place on a street circuit race in Long Beach, California. This movie has given us many famous characters like Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, etc.

Herbie, The Love Bug

There are a few movies that will remind you of your childhood like Herbie, The Love Bug. It follows the adventures of a mustang and a VW bug that travel the country. The film is an animated movie that’s more humorous and friendly than the original movie. This movie is great for young people who want to see a more friendly movie while also teaching them about the car culture.

Smokey and the Bandit

The film that started it all for car movies is the 1977 film Smokey and the Bandit. Johnny Knoxville and Jerry Reed star as an outlaw and bandit, respectively. The movie follows them as they rob a series of famous tow trucks, first as bad guys, then as good guys, in the middle of the film. The two also have a minor affair. The film was based on the song “Smokey and the Bandit,” written by Sherman Edwards and Don Sherman.

Gone in 60 Seconds

This movie, produced in 2000, stars Nicolas Cage and Ben Affleck. It tells the story of a gang who breaks into Los Angeles on the night before the L.A. Marathon to steal a car and sell it. The film is fast-paced with many different parts, including the two main characters, Nick and Jason, racing at a high rate of speed. The title is based on the old Air Force catchphrase, “Gone in 60 Seconds,” which is only 60 seconds, but the entire film is only about 60 seconds long.

Cars 2

Cars 2 came out in 2011 and received a much warmer reception from critics and audiences. The movie focuses on Lightning McQueen and Jackson Storm taking on a new, faster generation of racing cars.

The first Cars movie was made for the movie studio Pixar. For their second film, Cars 2, the company decided to make a PG-13-rated movie with fewer car chase scenes. Because this was aimed at a younger audience, the movie became a great way to introduce kids to cars and all their many functions. Although Cars 2 was not as fast-paced as its predecessor, it still had plenty of fun racing scenes.

Norman

It is not easy to find a movie that stars car lovers. Norman is a movie that not only has a great story and characters but also has great cars. This movie is based on the short stories of John Barth. Grease

Probably the most famous movie on the list, Grease is a classic. It has a great cast of well-known actors and actresses, including John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, and Annabeth Gish. There is just something about an old-school hot rod and a good racy romance that will have everyone on their feet. Just don't let Grease eat your lunch before you watch it.
