Is the G Shock Move Waterproof?

The G Shock has become one of the most popular and trusted watches on the market. Its style and the fact that it is water-resistant have made it a huge success. So, is the G Shock move waterproof? Let's take a look.

Additional Protection

The G-shock watch makes use of a special self-cleaning mechanism which ensures that it is water-resistant up to a certain depth. The water resistance is so advanced that the G-Shock can be used on wet or dry land (as long as it isn't submerged), and it will remain waterproof without the need for any additional protection. How does it do this?

Shallow Waters

The answer is in part to the technology used by the company that manufactures the watches. One of the features of the G-Shock movement is the ability for the watch to be sealed against moisture. In addition, the sapphire crystal that covers the face of the watch is itself water-resistant. This allows for the watch to be placed under water up to approximately one meter deep, as well as being used as a diving aid when divers find themselves trapped in shallow waters.

Septium Layer

Is the G-Shock move waterproof? By far yes! The sapphire crystal that covers the face of the watch is water-resistant, and there are no seams where water can get behind the dial or where dirt on the surface of the case can rub off and cause damage to the watch. However, G Shock watchmakers took additional measures to make the G Shock waterproof, including a septium layer around the edges of the case, and a special tab within the case that allow waterproofing without using a seal.

Water Resistant

Is the G-Shock waterproof? At first glance, the answer seems to be yes. Upon closer inspection, however, it becomes apparent that it is not. G Shock watches are water-resistant, but they do not go completely under the water. Water pressure is what causes the G-Shock vouchres codes to move, and while the crown may prevent debris from coming out of the watch, G Shock does not itself get pushed into the water. This means that G-Shock watches will not be entirely waterproof, but they do have a special seal that keeps water out.

Anti Shock

What about shock protection? Is the G-Shock move withstood shocks? Some watch manufacturers offer anti-shock insoles and bracelets that are making to keep the movement going. The G-Shock insoles are made of a material that allows the weight of the watch to make it less likely to move around on the wearer's wrist. While the anti-shock feature is not as strong as those included in high-end luxury watches, the insoles do make the watch less likely to move around on a strap, which will save you money in the long run.

Outdoor Activities

Is the G-Shock waterproof? G-Shock watches were designed to be water resistant, but if they were meant to be left outside without being moved, they would probably be fine. This is probably more of a concern for people who use their watches for sports or other outdoor activities. If you are an avid fisherman and take your watch out in the ocean or just near the beach, you probably would not mind if your G-Shock did not survive getting wet. However, you should be aware that it is possible for the watch to get wet if it is accidentally dropped into water that is too deep, as it can easily be damaged.

Conclusion:

Is the G-Shock move? As with any other watch, it is possible that the G-Shock moves when it gets wet. The movement is not very extreme, and most people will not notice. If you plan on taking your watch out in the ocean or other water where it might get wet, you should be aware that it is possible that the watch will move if it is not dried properly after being left out in the rain. A small amount of water is all that is required to make the G-Shock move, but it is something that you should be aware of if you are going to wear your watch while swimming or leaving it in water that is too deep.
