Apple Watch Series 6 Review-the Best Fitness Smartwatches of 2021

Apple Watch has long been an editor's choice for its great performance, unparalleled app selection, and ample health and fitness tracking with the Series 6, Apple is based on the flagship smartwatch by adding a blood oxygen saturation sensor that calculates SpO2 levels on demand and captures periodic background measurements when you're sleeping or inactive.

Putting this technology into consumer wearables has been more important than ever. This is because it indicates how well the circulatory and respiratory systems are delivering oxygenated blood to the body and can help determine whether a hospital visit is necessary.

In addition to this, Apple's changes include a faster processor, an always-on altimeter that lets you see the altitude in real-time, and the ability to increase screen brightness as your wrist goes down.

Along with these improvements, many new additions to watchOS 7, including a 20-second handwash timer and sleep tracking, make the Apple Watch Series 6 the company's best smartwatch in 2021 and make a new editor's choice.

Overview

The Series 6 comes partially charged, and when you take it out of the box and turn it on, you'll see a screen on your iPhone asking if you want to set up the clock using Apple's new Family Setting service or for someone else. Then put on the watch and point it to the phone camera and instruct it to pair by aligning the watch face with the viewfinder on the screen.

As soon as you do this, it says that your Apple Watch is paired and asks if you want to restore it from a backup or set it up as a new watch. I use Series 5 on a regular basis, so I chose to restore it on that device.

Additional health features of Apple Watch Series 6

The Series 6 has all of the superior health, safety, and lifestyle features of its predecessor. These include ECG readings, high and low heart rate alerts, irregular heart rate alerts, menstrual cycle tracking, fall detection, high decibel alerts, emergency SOS and international emergency calls. The Watch's Move, Exercise, and Stand rings are my personal favorites as they keep me active regularly and help cheer me up when I do.

Before the end of the year, Apple plans to launch Fitness+, a home fitness service for $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. Requiring an Apple Watch Series 3 or higher paired with an iPhone, Fitness+ promises to bring a range of workouts led by world-class trainers to the comfort and safety of your home. When streaming Fitness+ workouts from your iPhone or iPad, you'll see metrics from your Apple Watch on the screen, including workout time, heart rate, calories burned, and activity rings.

Later this year, Apple is also planning to add a Low Cardio Fitness feature that can tell you if your VO2 Max (a metric used to measure cardiovascular health, which represents the maximum amount of oxygen your body can use during intense workouts) is in the lower range.

Additional Apple Watch Features

I find useful include Apple Pay for contactless payments, Siri language translation, and overall calling and texting experience, including the ability to dictate text responses from the watch face and view images as text. Perhaps the watch's greatest strength is the App Store, where you can browse and install apps right from the watch itself. With over 20,000 Apple Watch apps available, you can easily choose the largest, high-quality third-party product among wearables.

In addition to downloading the app and replacing the band, changing the watch face is a fun way to customize your device, and Apple has several new options to choose from. WatchOS 7 includes 7 new watch faces. GMT displays multiple time zones at once. Count Up to track elapsed time, Chronograph Pro, a stopwatch with a tachymeter speed measurement tool,

Typograph with three custom type styles, Artist featuring dynamic portraits created in collaboration with artist Geoff McFetridge, Memoji, and stripes featuring Apple's animated characters. You can customize it based on the clothes you wear, support for the cause, or your favorite sports team. The Memoji watch face features cute anime characters from Apple.

Summary

Since Apple Watch debuted five years ago, one of its main features is monitoring your health. Based on this, Series 6 offers two key features to help you stay safe. It's a SpO2 sensor that can monitor blood oxygen saturation and a countdown timer that keeps you honest when washing your hand. The Series 6 is even more impressive thanks to a faster processor, a brighter always-on display, and an improved altimeter that can track changes in altitude in real-time. The Apple Watch Series 6 is the best smartwatch and editor's choice on the market.
