The SEOPressor Plug-in… Where it FAILS!

The SEOPressor Plug-in is a fantastic SEO tool to add to your SEO arsenal… it is a great search engine optimization guideline so crucial SEO elements are not forgotten. BUT, it's unfortunate to inform you that there are many tasks that the SEO plug-in isn't capable of doing.
He and I were talking about why he was not receiving much traffic considering that was posting 3 to 4 times a week on his blog.

He was sharing his thoughts about how he would like to use my SEO Blog Post Optimizing Services but said that it wasn’t necessary because he has the SEOPressor plug-in for his site optimization. When I responded with an “Oh”, he asked me, “why, is there something I need to know about SEOPressor?”

I told him that there are many areas that are impossible for this plug-in to cover… the main reason being that the plug-in is designed to work with the information that is specified inside the ‘Edit Post’ box of your blog, which unfortunately misses many crucial areas that still need optimizing.

The SEOPressor Plug-in Capabilities!

Let’s talk for a minute about the SEOPressor plug-in capabilities! Once you type your chosen keyword phrase within the box below your article and save your draft, the SEO plugin will remind you if your chosen keyword phrase is missing from your h1, h2, h3 tags, your Alt tag, whether your keyword density is just too low, etc.

SEOPressor’s main emphasis speaks of finding the proper Keyword Density for your article, this calls for the repeating of the same keyword phrase within the heading tags, ALT tag, first and last sentences of your content, etc. Too many repetitions of your keyword phrase will get you a penalty for keyword stuffing.

What the SEO Tool Cannot Do!

Let’s talk about the tasks that the SEOPressor tool cannot do or help you with… the main Article Headline, the Title Tag, Meta Description Tag, Image File Names, URL Structure, Image Compression, Cross-Linking and keyword placement by Keyword Prominence and Proximity.

SEO visit in the search engine results pages is your goal here and these areas that the plug-in does not cover are vital to SEO.

Please keep in mind that the reason I am bringing up this information is that there are many business professionals relying on the SEOPressor plug-in to do 100% of its On-Page SEO for them when there are so many other ranking factors at play here.

Google and other search engines have progressed beyond simple keyword density counts. What counts more today is formatting and the positions of your keywords. Google is also judging indexing positions for word association, including synonyms and the content contained.

Interpretation… the search engines today are keeping an eye out for the natural flow of articles written believing to be more human-friendly.

SEO Blog Tips and Methods Broken Down!

Let’s break down these variables in reverse order from above that the SEOPressor tool does not help you with… these are areas you can apply on your own.

Keyword Variations: This is just another way of saying that not each Internet searcher uses the same words to find information… think like your visitors and create some different variations of your targeted keyword phrase adding words on the beginning, the end or both.

The Long-Tailed Keyword Phrase: Long-tail keywords are a way of expanding on a core, general word to be made into a more specific targeted keyword term. Example: A Generic Broad Keyword – Knives; a more targeted, Long Tail Keywords Phrase – Vintage Damascus Knives. What you have done here is narrowed down the visitor's search by giving the specific knowledge you are offering for “Knives”.

Use the SEO tools like the Google Keyword External tool to find the keywords that potential visitors will associate with the information you are offering.

Keyword Synonyms: Fairly self-explanatory… these are words that have similar meanings and the search engines are looking for word association as previously mentioned.

Keyword Stemming: This is the increase of one keyword phrase that is relevant to your website article by using the idea, prefixes or add on pluralization… this is another way of getting one keyword phrase into many additional new keywords that you can use in your article.

Semantically Relevant Keyword Phrases: The use of these relevant keyword phrases in your content will allow the search engines to determine relevancy by the subject matter, rather than keyword density. In the world of organic or natural search, semantically similar content are words that are thematically compared to a particular search query. For example, Canon Cameras, Nikon Lenses, SLR, Zoom Lenses, Tripods, etc can all be equal to the word Camera. Creating sentences and articles using semantic keyword variations in your article can improve its relevancy score in the search engines’ ranking algorithms.

Keyword Prominence and Proximity: As mentioned previously about formatting and the positions of your keywords that the search engines are on the lookout for… Prominence refers to how close to the start of the page’s Title, Headings, Meta description, including sentences or phrases that your keyword or keyword phrase is placed, Proximity relates to how close two or more keywords are to each other… the best practices would be for the Long Tail Keyword Phrases.

Cross-Linking: This is another factor in the SEO structure that can be classified as important for organic SEO. Cross-Linking is using anchor text (linkable phrasing) to cross within your internal linking structure. Of course, you can also use anchor text to drive to outside sources.

During the creation of your article, if you happen to have discussed something that relates to an article in another post, link to it… this will also help decrease your bounce rate and aid in user experience.

Image Compression: As of April 2010, Google is using your site’s loading speed in its Search Engine Ranking Algorithm which will be used to determine your site’s placement on the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). So, compressing your images for the Web is just a smart move and will help reduce your download time.

URL Structure: URL, which stands for Uniform Resource Locator, basically is an address to which to find your website pages. Without them, there would be no means of navigating from one page to another.

Making your URL filenames referring to the content contained within the page is not only an important organization factor, but both search engines and your visitors connect the name of the page with the content that it contains. Just as it makes sense to fill your web page with keywords relevant to the topic you are writing about, you should name the file URL after your main keyword phrase.

Image File Names: Image optimizations are included in best SEO practices and will help aid in determining relevancy as spiders crawl your site. The best approach to this is to use the keyword phrase you have chosen for the file name. By optimizing your images with relevant keyword phrases for your targeted topic, you will get the concentration of the search engines and get better rankings for your topic keyword phrase.

The Meta Description Tag: Even though it is not important to search engine rankings, they are extremely important in gaining user click-through from search engine result pages (SERPs). You should optimize each and every Meta Description tag on your web site because these description tags are part of the show information that visitors see when your site is indexed in the search engine results pages.

The Title Tag: Your title tag is very probably the most important element to pay attention to if you have an interest in increasing your search engine rankings for a particular keyword phrase. The search engine will use the contents included within the title tag as the main certain factor for what the content is all about.

Main Article Headline: Capture the visitor's attention with a compelling and relevant headline in regards to their search, or lose them… you have less than 10 seconds to grab their attention before they move on. And, of course, you will want to place a keyword phrase defining your content within the article headline.

Closing Comments About SEOPressor’s Inabilities!

A factor in search engine optimization is the course for relevant keyword differences that are under-optimized by competitors, yet are frequently used by Internet searchers. Each and every variable mentioned above have a great effect on search engine optimization and its results.

Moving away from the keyword density and doing these techniques will be effective for you to rank for 100’s if not 1000’s of keyword phrases over time… doing these techniques will allow your site to expand its main keyword phrase into an unlimited quantity of variations which can help you gain more traffic.
