Why Relationships Fail and How to Avoid It

When faced with these kinds of issues, in order to keep things in perspective, think of the way you felt when you first met your partner. Reminisce on all of the reasons you fell in love with your partner in the first place.

Think about the good and the bad times you shared, and what makes it all worth it in the long-run.

It takes two to tango, and this applies to your relationship as well. An effort from only one party is not going to be successful in solving any of your relationship issues.

The truth is, relationships fail for a whole number of reasons. But there are a few more common reasons that many couples are quite familiar with.

The good thing is, if you learn to recognize some of these issues, you can take the necessary actions needed to quickly solve them before they become too much to bear.

Here are a few of the more common problems that cause relationships to fail:

  • High expectations generally happen when entering a relationship viewing everything through rose-colored glasses/spectacles. When these expectations are not met disappointment and frustration soon follow.
  • Financial issues are not unheard of between couples. It is important that a household budget is discussed early on so that each person knows what is expected of them. It is important to speak up about money issues when they first arise rather than arguing about it when you both are angry and fed up.
  • When stress is not managed, it spills over into our most intimate relationships. Recognize what stresses you both out and do whatever you can to not fall prey to it. Too much stress can hinder your ability to think and respond reasonably with your loved one.
  • Not maintaining a healthy habbit of sending Love Words or Images of Good Morning when the person love wake up.
  • Learn to compromise in order to do things as a couple. Go to a football match with him and take her shopping, or go on holiday together. Don’t be afraid to speak up and tell your significant other what you want and need.
  • No offense to all you guys out there, but you don’t take hints well, so learn to LISTEN and not just hear!  Part of listening means that you do not get defensive when she speaks to you and voices her concerns and needs. Be genuine, compassionate, understanding and sincere with each other.
  • Add some spice and adventure to your relationship by going out and having a night out on the town together. Bring home flowers and chocolates for no particular reason.

Guys, make sure to apologize if you’ve done something to upset her, and surprise her with something that she’s been wanting. Just remember to do it for “no reason whatsoever”, and not because it’s her birthday or Valentine’s Day.

Make the Commitment to Make It Work

Both of you have to be willing to make this relationship work. Don’t get into silly arguments about petty things. Instead, get together for a conversation and be rational about your issues.

Don’t be sensitive and defensive when the truth begins to come out. Speak calmly when you say what you have to say, and keep an open mind to what your partner has to say.

There are an abundance of tips that can save your relationship, but like with all advice, it may not work in all situations. An understanding of your partner and what your relationship requires can provide you with what you need
