Vishwakarma puja is also called Vishwakarma Day or Jayanti. Vishwakarma Jayanti is celebrated every year with gaiety in September. This day is celebrated almost all over India according to the rituals.

Lord Vishwakarma, the greatest architect, is worshiped on this day. According to history, Lord Vishwakarma is worshiped as Devashilpi i.e. the architect of the gods. He is also considered the creator of the triloka or tripartite era.

Not only heaven but he is considered to be the creator of this entire creation. He is believed to have built Lanka of gold in Satya Yuga where the demon king Ravana lived, Dwarka in Treta Yuga, where Shri Krishna was there, in Dwapara Yuga the city of Hastinapur which was the kingdom of Pandavas and Kauravas.

Major buildings and objects, vehicles built by Lord Vishwakarma

Lord Vishwakarma has an important place among all the deities. He created many famous buildings and objects. If you made Lanka of gold for Ravana, you made Indra's throne in heaven.

When the asuras started torturing the gods, they destroyed the demons by making Indra's thunderbolt from the bones of sage Dadhichi. After the end of Ravana, Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, and other companions returned to the city of Ayodhya sitting on the Pushpak Viman.

The Pushpaka Vimana was also built by Lord Vishwakarma. He had made the coil of Karna. Apart from this, Lord Shiva's Trishul, Vishnu's Sudarshan Chakra, Yamraj's Kaladand were made.

Vishwakarma worship method

• First of all, in the morning, wash or clean your car motor or the machines of your shop, clean the house and keep all the materials of worship ready a day in advance.
• After that, take a bath and sit with your wife at the place of worship.
• After that, after sitting on the puja, meditate on Vishnu Ji and offer flowers with the mantra 'Om Sri Srishtinataya Sarvasidhaaya Vishwakarmaya Namo Namah'.
• Tie the Raksha sutra in the hands of your wife and yourself.
• Put the flower in the kamandal and keep it in front. 
• After that meditate on Lord Vishwakarma.
• After that, after purifying, make a lotus with 8 petals on the ground.
• Keep different types of grains in the same place and sprinkle water from the soil and copper vessel on it.
• After that dedicate the rice pot and meditate on Varun Dev.
• Put any type of soil, betel nut, Dakshina in the urn and cover the urn with a cloth.
