Rays shortstop star In the Dominican Republic, Wander Franco is being looked at for a possible relationship with a child.
Following social media rumours about the shortstop, which claimed that Franco was having an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile, the investigation got under way earlier this week. After that, MLB launched its own inquiry into the claims on Sunday.
Only a few days after the probe began, a fresh report raises questions about Franco's baseball career's prospects. Tuesday morning, baseball insider Héctor Gómez wrote that a source close to the situation said it was "very unlikely that Wander Franco will play in MLB again, judging by the results of the investigations that are currently being carried out, which directly commit him to the accusations against him."
This season, RFranco appeared in 112 games for Tampa Bay, appearing in 17 home runs, 58 RBIs, and 30 stolen bases while batting.281. Also picked to his first All-Star team was the 22-year-old. In November 2021, he agreed to an 11-year, $182 million contract with the Rays, which was the biggest deal ever for the team's infamously tight budget.
