Manali is well renowned as India's adventure capital, not just for lovely excursions, but for fantastic biking, paragliding, and Jeep Safaris too. High altitude trekking areas such as Dev Tibba, Hampta Pass, and Beas Kund, all of which begin in Manali. I recall it was insane with all the buses around holiday time when I first came to Manali. The State was filled with people who had their luggage and were searching for a place to stay.

Beas Kund is a really remarkable journey to reach a very high altitude in quite a short time. When I visited Beas with my own set of friends, I found out that this walk from the base camp itself needed a winter kit. The Bakarthatch campsite in Beas is surrounded by about 4-5 peaks and the lovely star evenings.

A vacation from the hippie town of Tosh or Kasol is really necessary. Kheerganga hike Kheerganga Trek is quite nice and gives you a fantastic vista. During the walk, the vegetation changed considerably and at the end of the walk it opened into a gorgeous wilderness and after the long walk, a natural spring of hot water.
