Paro international airport, Bhutan
On a clear day, the trip from Druk Airlines to Bhutan is one of the most stunning in the Himalayas. Every flight is a fascinating experience, whether it's over the Himalayas from Kathmandu or over the hills of Kolkata. Majestic Trongsa Dzong
Visit Trongsa Dzong, Bhutan's largest architectural masterpiece, and Ta Dzong, built by 3rd Druk Desi to protect the dzong and its environs. Continue to Bumthang, the heartland of a sacred site, after lunch. Spend the night in a hotel after dinner.
Kurji Lhakhang
Bumthang refers to the four valleys of Chumey, Choekhor, Tang, and Ura, located between 2600 and 4000 meters above sea level. It is home to numerous notable Buddhist temples and monasteries. Visit Tamshing Lhakhang, a Buddhist temple that has a rich trove of religious paintings. Then go on to Jakar Dzong, where all the administrative work is completed. Visit Kurje Lhakhang, one of Bumthang's holy and sacred locations, after lunch. Next, include a visit to Jambay Lhakhang in your Bhutan travel itinerary, an old temple constructed during the country's Buddhist expansion. In Bumthang, spend the night at the lodge.
Festival at Mongar Dzong
The journey continues eastward in difficult terrain. The trip takes roughly 7 hours to soak in the breathtaking scenery. Before crossing the Thrumshingla Pass (4,000 meters), the kingdom's highest road, drive through the settlement of Ura in Bumthang. To visit the waterfalls along the way, travel to Sengor. Mongar town
This 96-kilometer trek takes three hours to complete, traveling via Korila Pass, marked by a stunning Chorten and a stone wall that runs through a thick grove of ferns. The route quickly descends through cornfields and banana plantations to reach Yadi's famed zigzag (new settlement). To get to Dametsi, follow the Gamri River. This is the location of Cheten Zangmo's most important monastery in the eastern portion; a temple alighted on top of a steep hill. Spend the night in a hotel in Trashigang.
Gom Kora temple
Visit Trashiyangtse to see the Gom Kora temple, situated on a small alluvial plateau overlooking the river. Guru Rinpoche defeated a demon right here. Then proceed to Dosum Village, where you may watch busy ladies making traditional Bhutanese items and visit a 15th-century chain bridge. At an elevation of 1850 meters, Trashiyangtse Dzong is a must-see. Because it is located on one of the major routes from the west to central Bhutan, Trashiyangtse was a significant center. Both the art school and the well-known Chorten Cora are new and close by. In the evening, return to Trashigang and spend the night in a hotel.
Bumthang, Gangtey
Return to Bumthang after the morning meal, and lunch will be served along the route. In Bumthang, spend the night in a hotel.
Wangduephodrang Dzong
Begin your journey to Punakha after strolling through Bumthang market, where lunch will be served on the way to one of Trongsa's most famous restaurants. After a brief stop at Wangduephodrang for tea and snacks, continue to Punakha. Spend the night there. After that, check into the hotel when you arrive in Thimphu. Spend the night.
In the mornings, Punakha is a great place to relax and enjoy leisure time. Drive to Paro after lunch and spend the night there.
